If I were in The Hunger Games, I would die first.

If I were in The Hunger Games, I would die first.

It may be the first Monday in January and I may be running (ha, no pun intended) on a New Year’s Resolution high, but I made up my mind that I want to run more. So cliche, I know.
But, I want to. For a lot of reasons that I won’t list, but most importantly, to learn to enjoy the process.

So, on the treadmill I went, since it was dreary and cold outside today.
In our house, we have a gym. My dad has decided to decorate said gym with framed pictures of famous baseball players from back in the day. Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken…you know, the really cool, really awesome guys.

This, my friends, does not help me want to run faster when I am on the treadmill. Staring at Babe Ruth’s face does not give me the motivation I need to run. When I run, I want to focus on something that isn’t running. So, with help from a playlist (listed below), I let my mind wander.

If I were in The Hunger Games, I would die first.

This made me run a little faster.

Run like I stole something.

I ran a little faster.

Run like there’s a zombie behind you.
I ran faster.

With every reason I could think of, I ran faster.
Until, I realized I had run for 30 minutes without stopping.
I didn’t even know I had it in me, honestly!
I think Babe Ruth smirked as I finished my run. LMK top 11 songs to run to
