Second Chances

I wrote another song.
Yes, yes… it’s true.

And this time, I recorded it right after I wrote it so I wouldn’t forget the tune! Always a plus. ;]

This song came to me in about 10 minutes. The lyrics, chords, tune, everything. When this happens, and it’s only happened a time or two, I believe it is God-inspired.

I wrote “The Second Chance” during one of my “let me think about life really deeply and psychologically” moments. It happens once in a while. I was thinking about how God gives me second chances even when I don’t deserve them. How I mess up time after time again and how He still opens his arms and lets me in. Grace. and Second Chances. Even after I fail and even after I struggle and even after I fall, God loves me. He picks me up and calls me his Daughter. He loves me and wants me and will never let me down. For that, I run to him. I run and I forget about my mistakes because He’s forgotten about them, too…and forgiven them. I have hope and faith that He will never leave me and for this, I am encouraged.

So…that inspired this song.

Please watch it. I hope the lyrics speak to you as much as they speak to me.
Our God is a God of Second Chances.

Lyrics:
Here I am
Humbly walking this road so long
Take me here
Knowing my past mistakes are gone

Chorus:
’cause You are the One
Who took my shame
And You are the One
Who took on my pain
And loved me
Even though, long ago, I had given up hope
You saved me

My tears stain my skin
Watery eyes, blurred vision
i don’t deserve You now
But there You are, making it better somehow [Chorus]

Bridge:
Now I’m running
faster towards You
Leaving the past behind forever
You stay strong and never move on
You take me for who I am
And I’m Yours now

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, yeah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, forever [Chorus]

P.S. Side note: I don’t know why I do this, but I rock while playing piano. Please ignore that. hehe.
